Event Photography Dallas: Expertise in Lighting

Dallas Event Photographers

It’s foggy in Dallas today - something not too frequent in the middle of a Texas June. We are used to blazing hot temperatures, zero clouds in the sky and kill-your-St.-Augustine nonstop sunshine. That’s why today gives me pause. Here I am looking out my window at weather that looks almost winter-like and not at all summer-like.

That’s the beauty of Texas, or at least I think it’s beautiful. You truly never know what the weather holds. Our local weather guys give it their best shot, but often, their predictions are far off the reality. Working in the Dallas event photography industry means the weather matters for us and many of our clients. So I watch it closely because when it matters to our clients, it matters to us.

The weather also informs how we shoot events. A foggy outdoor event is captured differently than a bright sunshiney day event. There’s one critical key to not letting the ever-changing Dallas weather to cause excessive worry about your photos:

Hire a great photographer.

People can have a great time in any weather - I’ve seen this time and time again in events we’ve captured. BUT, and this is a big but, if you don’t hire an excellent photographer, your images may sing more of the bad weather or bad lighting instead of the great event.

Hiring JWCannon Creative means hiring expertise, specifically in lighting. Our Dallas event photographers are expertly trained to shoot in all varieties of spaces, lighting and weather. Your event is not their first rodeo - far from it! Your event benefits from hundreds of events photographed in varying lighting and weather.  Our photographers are seasoned and knowledgeable about how to capture everything from outdoors and sunny to indoors and dim.

In fact, just the other day, I was talking with one of our JWCannon Creative Dallas event photographers who was on-site at an indoor event. He shared that the venue was unique - a funky vibe with an intimate feel. What made it more intimate in nature? The lighting! It was dimly lit, complete with frosted windows and blackout curtains that were drawn during the keynote presentation. And you know what our photographer did? He made amazing photos. He made amazing photos because he knows how to work in various light.

That’s what you get when you hire our Dallas event photography team at JWCannon Creative: images that capture the heart and soul of your event - no matter the lighting.
