2023 has been the year of extremes. It’s had me chuckling at my desk more than one time. Each year seems to have “its thing,” and by June, I certainly have a pulse on what that thing may be. I’ve got plenty of examples from years in the Dallas corporate event photography industry…
The year of every single outdoor event getting rained out, hailed out, monsoon-ed out, snow-stormed out, tornadoe-d out. I’ve seen years where weather has been finicky, frustrating and destructive for the event industry.
The year of the drone. Ah, the year every single client wanted drone footage even if it was completely unwarranted. New technology means lots of bookings. And of course, our drone videographers are the best in town, so choosing us for your Dallas event videography is a smart call!
The year of the date switch. Everything is all set for a corporate event date… then… surprise! It’s a last minute date switcheroo! That’ll keep you on your toes…!
When you’ve been in the Dallas corporate event photography world for as long as we have, you get to know these ‘year of the…’ labels pretty well. And 2023 is no different. We are rounding halfway through the year and I’m calling it: 2023 is the year of the early birds and the last minute birds!
Let’s begin with the early birds:
The early bird plans far out in advance. They get their event on the calendar early, and they begin booking as soon as they’ve got the green light. Just the other day, I was working on an event for a year out. I have to admit, seeing the year 2024 felt crazy! But we all know it will be here before we know it!
More time, more prep. The early bird has the advantage of time. I recently did a planning call for an event 6 months out. Plenty of time to work out the kinks and prepare for things to run smoothly on all fronts.
More time, more thoughtfulness. When you’re the early bird, you can identify holes in your event flow and specific needs you might not have seen earlier. For example, many early birds have time to plan ahead and add Dallas corporate headshot photography to their Dallas corporate event photography. And the late bird, who I love just as much as the early bird:
