Behind the Scenes in Dallas Event Photography

Dallas Event Photographer

Allow me to pose an important question: what’s the end product of Dallas event photography? And no, this isn’t a trick question! The end product is of course photos. Photos you can print, photos you can use in marketing and advertising, photos you can post on social media, photos you can use at your place of business - the end product is of course the actual photos.

Oftentimes, people see the end product and have little to no idea what happens behind the scenes. I do this every day. I drive my car to run an errand without a moment’s thought about what it took to actually make my car, design it, test prototypes, advertise it so that I would buy it…!

Every industry has a behind-the-scenes that helps get the end product into the customer’s hands. Dallas event photography is certainly no different. We have a bustling behind the scenes life that most of our clients never see and never think about. But the behind the scenes happenings are the keys to an excellent final product. Today’s blog highlights one such key: in-house editing.

When you hire JWCannon Creative for your Dallas event photography needs, you’re hiring the best of the best behind the scenes editing team. Allow me to give you a few reasons why?

  • It’s in the name… In-House. We don’t farm it out. We don’t send off your images to some stranger in the middle of nowhere with limited skills and limited internet access (this is not a joke, folks!). The moment your Dallas event photographer finishes shooting, they send over ALL the images from the event to our IN-HOUSE editing team. The team is focused completely on JWCannon event photography. They don’t have 50 different clients with a hundred different ways of operating. Our in-house team operates the JWCannon way.

  • Fast Turnaround. Once the editing team receives the full gallery of event photos, they get to work. Why? Fast image turnaround is the name of our game. The editing team begins the critical work of sifting through hundreds, maybe thousands of images, to give you the best selects that meet your end goals.

  • An eye for editing. Our in-house editing team is carefully curated. This is far from a job that “anybody can do.” A photo editor must have creativity and an artistic eye. They must be able to make fast decisions about which photos meet the mark and which don’t. They must be able to evaluate angles, lighting, layout, composition and so much more. The editor’s eye is critical in finalizing selects that capture the spirit and personality of an event. For many who hire us, they do not have this critical editing eye. If we provided you with every single event photo, it is unlikely that you would be able to pick the best of the best. That’s why we do it for you… so you only get the best.

  • Quality control. Our in-house editing team has been with Jason Kindig (our owner and leader) since the early days of his event photography work. They work seamlessly together which means you get the benefit of a busting-at-the-seams creative relationship with longevity, trust and expertise. Nothing better than that!

In-house editing makes all the difference in Dallas event photography. The different is profound, you can trust me on that!
